Who We Are

Located in Medford, WI, Taylor County WI Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter serving Taylor County. We are located at 819 S Gibson Street. At this time, we have limited open hours for visiting our adoptable animals, but appointments can be scheduled to meet our adoptable pets once we receive and approve an adoption application.

Our Mission Statement: Taylor County, WI Humane Society is dedicated to educating our community on responsible pet ownership, on the importance of spay/neuter, and on providing loving and caring homes for all animals. TCHS is a no-kill shelter.

Thank you to Dr. Elsey's for donating litter to our shelter for our cats and kittens. They offer many different formulas and are available at various retail outlets.

Aluminum Can Donations

We have two locations with trailers for people who would like to donate their aluminum cans to us. Every dollar collected goes to our medical fund, which helps us take care of the medical needs for animals in our care.

We are pleased to announce that we have been nationally recognized in 2023 for having a save rate of over 90% which gives us the title as a NO-KILL shelter. We had a 97% save rate. We have always been a NO-KILL shelter. 2023 was the first time we shared our data nationally.
